change the theme name

    Hi jason

    how can i change the theme name so peeps cant see the orginal theme name if viewing the page source.

    also ive also edited the site, so wondering can this still be done without losing what ive already done?

    Hello Denny,

    The best thing to do is to activate the Child theme that comes in your theme’s download package. In its style.css, you’d change the name, author credits, etc, to whatever you want, and this child theme becomes the “active” theme that WordPress then links to the main parent theme internally.

    You won’t lose any kind of customizations by doing this other than, you’ll need to go to Appearance > Menus after activating the new child theme and re-assign your custom menu to the Primary Navigation location. And then just double check that WordPress didn’t shift around any of your widgets under Appearance > Widgets.
