    How would I change the background image using a child theme? I have a pattern I would like to repeat and tried adding the following to arcadian-child/assets/css/custom.css without effect:

    body {
    background-image:url('pattern31.gif');
    background-repeat:repeat;
    }

    I was able to fix it myself – the image url wasn’t working properly, so I used the complete URL.

    Hello,

    In CSS, image paths are always relative to the CSS file of where the styles are located.

    So, for example if you have an image located here:

    /assets/images/pattern31.gif

    And you have a CSS file located here:

    /assets/css/custom.css

    To include that image would look like this:

    background-image: url('../images/pattern31.gif');

    Starting from the CSS file, you’re going up one directory with the .. into the “assets” directory. And then you’re moving into the “images” directory where the image is.
