Can't Find Portfolio Page

Sorry for the newbie question. But I’m wanting to add a page that is the same as the page that is on the “PORTFOLIO” link on the live demo Aleyeska.

When I go to “Builder” – Add New Layout – Starting Point: it does not show that particular page there to add for a new layout.
It does show the “Portfolio Homepage”, but isn’t that a completely different layout?

Hello Sam,

Within the framework, we refer to these as “post grids” and there are essentially three ways to incorporate them:

1. “Post Grid” page template – This is similar to how other WordPress themes include a “Portfolio” page template. You’d create a page and apply the “Post Grid” template when editing it (see screenshot). It simply displays a paginated grid of posts. (This is what’s used on the demo page you’re asking about)
2. “Post Grid” shortcode – The [post_grid] shortcode will display a non-paginated grid of posts. This could be used within the content of a standard page, for example.
3. “Post Grid” elements – When working with the Layout Builder, the user can insert one of two elements – paginated post grid or or non-paginated post grid. Since a paginated post grid uses the main WP_Query, the Layout Builder will only allow the user to insert one into a single custom layout.

If you open your documentation that came with your download package there is a video series called “The Classic Portfolio” that will guide you through all of these methods of creating a post grid.

EDIT: Looking in the themeforest-164366-alyesda-responsive-wordpress-theme-.zip file, there is nothing in the file with regards to videos or tutorials.

Hate to keep bugging you, but none of the videos are coming up in the page. Do you have an online version you might could send the link to.

Inside your download package is a folder called “documentation” and inside there is a file called “index.html” — You want to open this file in a web browser like Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer, etc.

If the videos are not coming up when you open the file, most likely this is something to do with how you’re viewing the webpage. Make sure you’re connected to the Internet when viewing the file, and maybe try using a different web browser on your computer to open it.
