    When I add forum to this theme it’s almost invisible. How can I change that? I’m using body style dark. Here is the link to pic how it looks. http://mail.lerota.net/dl/forum-slika.png

    Hello,

    Can you provide a live a link to the issue and I can help you with the CSS customization to make the two work together?

    Maybe something like this:

    #bbpress-forums ul.bbp-lead-topic,
    #bbpress-forums ul.bbp-topics,
    #bbpress-forums ul.bbp-forums,
    #bbpress-forums ul.bbp-replies {
    	color: #666;
    }

    For CSS changes, it’s a good idea to use a tool like firebug or Google Chrome’s built-in developer tools to locate them and then put the edits either in your child theme or in the “Custom CSS” option on your theme options page.

    Also, here’s a helpful tutorial on how to use Firebug – http://vimeo.com/20917974. The only thing I’d suggest not doing is actually making edits to the theme’s CSS files, as it shows at the end of that video. However, the video serves as a good introduction to Firebug and how it can be used to find what CSS is effecting certain areas of your site without ever digging around in any files.

    Thanks Jason. I will try it when I catch more time, and I will report how it went.

    Thanks, this is very good tutorial. I see the best and the safest option is to use child theme. But I have many things added in main theme that I will loose when I activate the child theme. Is there some safe option that I can export theme options from main theme to child theme or I have to do everything manually and from beginning?

    When you switch to a Child theme, your old options don’t go anywhere. They’re just now being accessed and saved with a different options id.

    Reference: http://dev.themeblvd.com/tutorial/saving-theme-options-and-switching-themes/

    So, if you want, you can just change the option ID that options are saved at from your Child theme’s functions.php. Just set it to match the current “alyeska” ID generated from the default theme’s name.

    function my_option_id( $option_id ) {
        $option_id = 'alyeska';
        return $option_id;
    }
    add_filter( 'themeblvd_option_id', 'my_option_id' );

    So, in other words, by having this in your Child theme, if you were to theoretically be switching back and forth between Child and Parent theme the theme options will remain the same.

    I somehow managed to make some changes, but it’s far from perfect :-). One more question. If I use bbpress with “Body style Light” in theme options, everything is perfect. You don’t have to mess with CSS at all :-). Is there a way that I can use “Light style” for bbpress forums and Dark style for the rest of the site?

    And I find a little apparently browser bug in firefox. In chrome it looks OK. In firefox one block is missing.

    Can you link me on your site where I can see this issue live in my browser?

    Try putting this in your Custom CSS:

    .bbp-pagination { float: none; overflow: hidden; }

    … And click around the different pages of your forum and just make sure it doesn’t have any adverse effects somewhere else. If it does, let me know.

    It’s working for me. Try clearing your browser cache or refreshing the page a couple of times.

    What do you mean? You mean you want a custom-styled dark version of bbPress?
