    Is there any way i can add a background image to this theme besides the default color options?

    I suspect this may be possible with the child theme, but i am a beginner and wouldn’t even know where to begin.

    Any plugin, or option available that would allow me to do this? thanks so much 🙂

    Hello,

    No, apologies, but there is no feature for this. This would only be possible through your own CSS customizations. So, to make these kinds of customizations, you’ll need to do a little research on the topic of CSS.

    For CSS changes, it’s a good idea to use a tool like firebug or Google Chrome’s built-in developer tools to locate them and then put the edits either in your child theme or in the “Custom CSS” option on your theme options page.

    Here are some examples f how you’d target some different sections of the theme.

    #top { background: ... }
    #featured { background: ... }
    #main { background: ... }

    Also, here’s a helpful tutorial on how to use Firebug – http://vimeo.com/20917974. The only thing I’d suggest not doing is actually making edits to the theme’s CSS files, as it shows at the end of that video. However, the video serves as a good introduction to Firebug and how it can be used to find what CSS is effecting certain areas of your site without ever digging around in any files.

    Thank you for your response.

    I was however able to add a background image through a plugin called FWB slider..

    Now when i look at my homepage i can see the background pic that i’ve uploaded 🙂

    Thank you very much for your help.
